The first Port Ellen in Diageo's Special Release series, a 22 year old Islay single malt distilled in 1979, four years before the distillery closed. It matured in American oak casks and was bottled at natural cask strength, in a 70cl bottle. The outturn was 6000 bottles. It is described as fruity, smoky and dry in character.
