Pulteney – 2012/2025 13 Year Old Barrel (Hannah Whisky Merchants) (70cl, 58.9%)

This is a 13 year old Pulteney single malt from Wick, bottled by Hannah Whisky Merchants as the first cask they have released from the distillery. It was distilled on 29 February 2012 and bottled on 2 April 2025 at a natural cask strength of 58.9%, with an outturn of 241 bottles. The whisky stayed in its original barrel for the whole of its maturation and was not re-racked, which leaves the maritime character of the spirit in front. The distillate is described as heavy bodied, with spicy and fruity notes. The tasting notes read lemon sherbet, salt, black pepper and liquorice.
