A nine-year-old Pulteney matured in a bourbon cask and bottled by The Good Spirit, released in October 2023. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 55% ABV.
The first sample of this malt came in at well over 60% and tasted hot, so the strength was brought down to 55%, the point where the elements seemed to balance. It will take a little water.
Tasting notes describe pineapple in brine, a fresh, intense and juicy character, and the salty note of young Pulteney from refill wood, along with a brined apple.
