Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 2017 (75cl)

Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 2017 is a vintage port from Portugal, made in a year when the house chose to declare. Noval declares only in great years, around three or four in a decade, and only when the wines meet its standards. The 2017 is a field blend based on Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Cão and Sousão, aged for 18 months in old wood vats. The nose gives cassis, bilberry jam, crushed stone and pressed violets, with orange blossom and quince emerging later, and a lifted eucalyptus note. The palate is dense with plum, boysenberry and cassis, over tar and baker's chocolate, with firm tannins. The finish is long and spicy.
