Raasay Dun Canna (70cl, 52%)

Dun Canna is a single malt from Isle of Raasay, named after the island's volcanic mountain, which was 66 million years in the making. This is the third release, bottled at 52%. The first maturation took place in rye casks that previously held Woodford Reserve, Peerless and Wild Turkey. A second maturation followed in quarter casks from Jerez that held Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry. It is described as peppery and spiced, with dried sultanas and hints of vanilla. The finish is lingering salty chocolate with a light touch of aromatic wood smoke.
