Raasay The Draam Single Malt (70cl, 46.4%)

The Draam is the single malt from Isle of Raasay Distillery, on the island of the same name off the west coast of Scotland. It combines lightly peated and unpeated malt, matured in American rye whiskey casks, virgin Chinkapin oak and Bordeaux red wine casks. It is bottled at 46.4% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose shows dark red fruit, honey and vanilla, with soft peat smoke, spice and toasted oak. On the palate are ripe berries, caramel and spice, then black pepper, oak and a faint maritime smokiness. The finish is long, with dark fruit, vanilla, gentle smoke and warm spices.
