Fontvieille is a Grande Champagne cognac from Ragnaud-Sabourin, made as a tribute to the estate's founder, Gaston Briand. The eaux-de-vie come from the oldest vines on the property.
The blend follows the wishes of the first cellar masters: Ugni Blanc (60%), with Folle Blanche and Colombard.
The nose is perfumed with liquorice and lime blossom, lightly toasted, with almond notes. The palate is balanced and mellow, with brown honey, orange zest, spice and the sought-after rancio. The finish is robust, with spice and pepper.
