This is a Kentucky straight bourbon from RD1 Spirits, aged for over four years and then given a second period of ageing with French oak and maple staves. The staves are steeped in maple syrup.
The nose is maple and butterscotch. The palate brings toasted caramel, roasted pecans and a hint of paprika, with maple sweetness set against black peppercorn spice. The finish is smooth and spicy, with a lingering note of toasted caramel.
