Redbreast 15 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Redbreast 15 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey from the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, bottled at 46% without chill-filtration in a 70cl bottle. It matures in a mix of American bourbon barrels and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, using both first-fill and refill casks. Its mash combines malted and unmalted barley, and it is distilled three times in copper pot stills. It first appeared in 2005 as a limited bottling before joining the permanent range. The nose is rich with dried fruit. The palate is soft and round, with sweet raisins, figs and vanilla alongside pronounced spice and toasted wood. The medium to long finish brings lively ginger, peppery spice and drying oak, softened by creamy vanilla.
