This is a Canadian rye whisky from Shelter Point Distillery on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. It is made from rye and barley, both grown and distilled in B.C., and bottled at 40% ABV.
The nose opens with bright stone fruit, a sherbet-like sweetness and fresh ginger, with grain beneath. On the palate it is smooth and rounded, with milk chocolate, baked apple, spiced fruitcake, rye grain and warming ginger. The finish is long, with vanilla, soft oak tannins, a gentle peppery rye spice and returning ginger.
