Reservoir – Cask Experience François Cognac Cask American Rye Whiskey (75cl, 43%)

This is an American rye whiskey from Reservoir, a distillery founded in 2008 in Richmond, Virginia, by childhood friends Jay Carpenter and Dave Cuttino. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. For the Cask Experience, the distillery chose a whiskey from its warehouse that would work with the character of cognac. A 100-gallon Limousin cask from François Voyer, which had held a 2016 cognac, was filled straight away with fully matured wheated rye. The whiskey then spent almost five more months in the cask, taking on subtle cognac notes before bottling.
