A red wine of great elegance and complexity, produced in the Monferrato area of Piedmont from 100% Barbera grapes harvested and selected by hand.
In the glass it is an intense, deep ruby red. On the nose there are ripe red fruit such as cherry and blackberry, with spicy notes of vanilla and black pepper and a light touch of tobacco and dark chocolate from long ageing in oak barrels. On the palate it is powerful and structured, with present but soft, silky tannins.
The typical Barbera acidity is well balanced, giving freshness and vitality, and the finish is long and persistent with memories of fruit and spice.
