Rieger's Kansas City Whiskey (37.5cl, 46%)

Rieger's Kansas City Whiskey is a blend of straight bourbon, light corn whiskey and straight rye whiskey, each aged for at least four years. A small amount of 15 year old Oloroso sherry from the Williams & Humbert bodega in Jerez is added, and it is bottled at 92 proof in a 375ml bottle. It is described as well balanced and slightly sweet, and can be served neat, on the rocks or in cocktails such as the Manhattan and Old Fashioned. The nose opens with sherry, then caramel, butterscotch and a corn whiskey backbone. Sweet corn leads the palate, with dried fruit, almonds and bitter chocolate, and the finish brings robust rye spice.
