Rìgh Seumas II 12 Year Old Blended Whisky Murray McDavid (46%)

Rìgh Seumas II is a 12 year old blended Scotch whisky from Murray McDavid, bottled at 46%. It is the fourth batch and is made from whiskies from four areas: Speyside, the Highlands, the Lowlands and Islay. The recipe is 70% malt and 30% grain. The blend was inspired by Jim McEwan. It centres on Bruichladdich, with older malt from Auchentoshan, Tobermory, Arran and Old Rhosdhu. The malts were matured in Bordeaux red wine barriques, and the grain whisky came from bourbon casks before the blend rested in sherry hogsheads. The nose is plenty of fruit with vanilla and a touch of leather. The palate is very buttery, with caramel cake and oak spice, and the finish stays creamy with dried fruit.
