Rittenhouse Straight Rye 80 Proof (40%)

Rittenhouse Straight Rye is an American rye whiskey from Kentucky, bottled at 80 proof, or 40%. The mash bill is rye, corn and malted barley. This is the older bottling, since replaced by a 100 proof version with a changed recipe. The nose is peppery spice, toasted oak and subtle citrus. On the palate come cinnamon, clove and a hint of butterscotch, and the finish is long and warming.
