Rock Oyster Cask Strength Edition is a vatted malt from Douglas Laing's Regional Malts series. It combines whiskies from Islay, Jura, Arran and Orkney, matured in bourbon casks. Each island adds something. Islay brings phenols, iodine and coal dust, Arran a little pepper and fine honey sweetness, Jura citrus and barley, and Orkney salty notes. The nose opens with sea air. The palate is bold and stormy, led by the Islay character.
