This is a rye whiskey from Rod & Hammer's Slo Stills, a distillery in San Luis Obispo, California, which opened in 2019. The Distiller's Reserve was first released in 2020.
It is made from a beer mash with 60% rye grain, and aged for twelve months in new quarter casks. Each cask holds fifteen gallons, so the spirit has plenty of contact with the wood.
