Roe & Co Flor is a 14 year old Irish single grain whiskey, released in 2024 as the first permanent single grain bottling from Roe & Co. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour.
The whiskey was finished in selected Fino and Amontillado sherry casks. The name refers to the layer of yeast, known as flor, that protects sherry during biological ageing. Fino ages under it, while Amontillado goes on to age oxidatively.
Lemon and orange peel, marzipan, dried apricot, green apple, coconut and charred oak show on the nose. Apricot jam, citrus peel, almonds and fresh cream follow on the palate. The finish is warm and long, with toffee and a hint of ground ginger.
