Rossville Union Bottled-in-Bond is a six-year-old rye whiskey from the Ross & Squibb Distillery in Indiana.
It follows the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897: distilled in a single season, aged for six years and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). It is suggested as a base for a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned.
The nose is dark pumpernickel bread, black pepper, sweet caramel and toasted oak. The palate is rich and spicy, with peppery rye and cinnamon rounded out by vanilla, dark chocolate and subtle stone fruit. The finish is long and warm, with dry oak and a hint of mint.
