Royal Lochnagar 12 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle. It has a pale golden colour and a medium body.
The nose is fairly closed, with planed wood, light toffee, varnish and linseed oil, and later a lychee-like sharpness. Water brings out some acidity and sweetens the nose.
On the palate it is pleasantly acidic, with a little early sweetness quickly overtaken by sharpness. The finish is dry to intense and of medium length, with a lingering sandalwood note.
