This is Royal Lochnagar 12 Years Old, a single malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle. It has a pale golden appearance and a medium body.
The nose is fairly closed at first, with planed wood, light toffee, varnish and linseed oil, plus a lychee-like sharpness. Water sweetens it. On the palate it is pleasantly acidic, with the early sweetness quickly overtaken by a sharper edge. The finish is dry to intense and of medium length, leaving a lingering sandalwood note.
