Royal Lochnagar (70cl)

Royal Lochnagar is a single malt from a distillery whose origins go back to 1826. It gained the Royal name 22 years later. In 1848 Queen Victoria chose Balmoral Castle as her holiday residence. John Begg, who ran the distillery, invited Prince Albert to visit. The Queen, the Prince and their three eldest children came the following day, and were so impressed by the whisky that Begg received a royal warrant as supplier to the court. Begg rebuilt the distillery in 1845 on the south bank of the river.
