Royal Salute The Hundred Cask Selection Limited Release No. 12

A blended whisky from Royal Salute, released as Limited Release No. 12 of The Hundred Cask Selection. Sherry casks and oak play a clear part, becoming evident towards the end of the palate and giving it structure. The nose is big, ripe and deep without any sharpness, with crystallised tropical fruit such as apricot, papaya and melon, then caramelised sugar, vanilla, espresso and a little cinnamon. The palate is very smooth and rich, with fruit sweetness like a Christmas cake soaked in brandy, prunes, dark sugars, honey and dark chocolate. The finish is long, warm and rounded, with winter spice, toasted almonds, coffee beans and delicate smoky oak.
