Rozelieures – Origine Collection Single Malt (70cl, 40%)

Origine Collection is a single malt whisky from Rozelieures, a distillery in Lorraine, France, that dates itself from 1890. It is bottled by Distillerie Grallet Dupic at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The nose opens fresh and fruity, with ripe pear and green apple, then moves to cereal, toasted malt, walnuts and hazelnuts, with cedar, toast and faint peat smoke behind. The palate is full, oily and silky, with candied fruit and raisins that come from time in sherry casks. The finish is long and balanced, with ginger, nutmeg, soft wood and a light trace of smoke.
