Ruadh Maor (Peated Glenturret) 2011/2026 14 Year Old Refill Madeira Barrique Chorlton (70cl, 54%)

Ruadh Maor is the name for the heavily peated single malt made at Glenturret in Perthshire, at around 80ppm. This is a 14 year old single cask, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2026 by Chorlton Whisky at a cask strength of 54%, in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Peated production at the distillery has now ceased, and only a small volume of the spirit was made each year. The nose is richly smoky with barbecue notes, ripe stone fruit, vanilla and a gentle honeyed sweetness. The palate has powerful but balanced peat, smoked meats, soft caramel and a touch of citrus. The finish is long, warming and savoury.
