Ruadh Mhor is a peated Glenturret, here bottled at 11 years old and 55.9% by the Jewish Whisky Company for its Single Cask Nation series. It spent its last three years in a first fill new charred oak hogshead, and 307 bottles were filled.
The nose combines sweet bonfire smoke with vanilla, toasted coconut and maple syrup. On the palate there are spicy charcoal, dark caramel, burnt almonds and a savoury, earthy, smoky sweetness. The long, warming finish is dry and smoky, with a touch of bitter chocolate.
