Rye & Sons 2022 Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (75cl, 48.8%)

Rye & Sons 2022 is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from the sommelier André Hueston Mack, who founded the Maison Noir wine label. It is the inaugural release, made in collaboration with Pinhook and their master blender, and distilled in Danville and Frankfort, Kentucky. Rye & Sons is released in annual vintages, each drawn from that year's barrels and blended on its own terms, much as a wine vintage would be. This one is bottled at 97.5 proof (48.75%). The nose has orange zest, sweet cane syrup, clove and a lift of eucalyptus. The palate runs through anise, roasted nectarine and salted caramel with a little cinnamon, and the finish closes with peppery warmth.
