A Japanese single malt from the Saburomaru distillery in Toyama prefecture, which has worked with peated whisky since 1952. This is Saburomaru VII, The Chariot, labelled super heavily peated.
The whisky was distilled in 2021 and bottled in 2025 at 48% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It has no added colour and is not chill-filtered.
On the palate it is weighty, with deep earthy notes and a firm mineral presence.
