Sakurao Japanese Dry Gin Original

A Japanese dry gin from Sakurao Distillery in Hiroshima, first launched in 2018 as the region's pioneering gin. It is distilled in a German-made copper hybrid still using both steeping and vapour techniques. Fourteen botanicals go in, nine of them from Hiroshima, including navel and sweet summer orange, lemon, yuzu, daidai, hinoki, green tea, red shiso and ginger, alongside juniper and coriander seed. Citrus and juniper lead on the nose. The palate is rich with ginger and green tea and a faint resinous note from the hinoki, and the finish lingers with orange zest, juniper and delicate herbal notes.
