Sakurao – Sherry Cask Stillman's Edition (50%)

Sakurao Sherry Cask Stillman's Edition is a Japanese single malt from the Sakurao Distillery in Hiroshima prefecture, a distillery founded in 2018 and linked to the brewery of the same name. It is a limited edition, bottled at 50%, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring. The whisky spends about three years in former cream sherry casks, and the coastal climate speeds up its maturation. The nose has sultanas and cocoa with a little peat smoke. The palate is fruity, with wine notes, dark cherry and orange, and another hint of peat smoke. The finish is woody and deep, with a pleasant bittersweet note.
