Samuel Gelston's Blended Irish Whiskey combines Irish malted barley and grain whiskey, triple distilled and made with locally sourced Irish barley. It is matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The Gelston name dates to 1830, when Samuel Gelston, a Belfast wine and whiskey merchant, founded the business. It passed to Harry Neill in 1869 and remains with the Neill family.
Light golden in colour, it has a delicate nose of dry spice, fruit and hard candied sweets. The palate is lightly spicy with honey, grain and nut, and the finish is long.
