Second Glance is an American whiskey from winemaker Dave Phinney, and this is its first release. Phinney picked each barrel by hand from Kentucky, and the youngest whiskey in the blend is five years old. It was aged for at least five years in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in wine barrels from his Napa Valley Cabernet projects. The mash bill is 95% corn, 4% rye and 1% malted barley, and the whiskey was reduced to 88 proof with water from Alexander Valley. Maple wood, cardamom, buttery toast and black cherries lead on the nose. The palate brings honey, caramel, hazelnut and baked dark fruits, and the finish is layered.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
