Sazerac 100 Proof Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof). It carries no age statement and is matured in new charred oak barrels.
This higher-proof bottling was developed with bartenders in mind and sits alongside the standard 90-proof version.
The nose is clove, black pepper, anise, vanilla bean and citrus zest. The palate opens with rye spice, then caramel, liquorice and candied orange, with brown sugar and caramel corn. The finish is long, dry and warming, with peppery spice, toasted oak and liquorice.
