Scallywag 12 Year Old (53.6%)

Scallywag 12 Year Old is a Speyside blended malt from the independent bottler Douglas Laing & Co., made from single malts of several Speyside distilleries. Only 6,000 bottles were produced. It was matured for a minimum of 12 years entirely in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and bottled at a cask strength of 53.6% without chill filtration or added colouring. The label shows the Scallywag fox terrier wearing a monocle, a tribute to the fox terriers kept by generations of the Douglas Laing family. The notes mention cherry jam, dark berries, treacle and honey, with creamy vanilla, toasted oak and gentle baking spice, and a long, rich finish.
