Scapa – 10 Year Old (70cl, 48%)

Scapa 10 Year Old is a single malt from Scapa Distillery, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The distillery's style comes from a longer fermentation and unpeated malted barley. The whisky is matured in first-fill American oak casks, and the character centres on tropical and fruity notes, with fresh pineapple leading to a lightly spiced finish. On the nose there are fresh pineapple slices and mango ice cream, then crème brûlée, honey-glazed pancakes and cinnamon buns with a little citrus peel. The palate offers baked apple with warming spice and custard, alongside banana, toasted oak and milk chocolate. The finish is fruity and spicy.
