This is a single malt from Scapa, distilled in 1965 and bottled in 1988 for Moon Import under the name 'The Sea'. It was matured in a hogshead and bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle.
The colour is gold. The nose is quiet at first, with oak, flour, chalk and cardboard, then a little green tea and mint. The palate is fuller, opening with vanilla and herbal notes of mint and lemon balm, with hints of rum and coffee toffee in a well balanced whole.
The finish is long and warming, turning spicier with ginger, cloves and dried cardamom.
