Scapa Skiren is a malt whisky from Orkney in a 70cl bottle at 40%. Its name comes from Norwegian and means a bright, sparkling sky.
It was distilled in a Lomond-type still, the only one still working in Scotland, and matured in first-fill American oak casks. The casks add a vanilla character alongside the honeyed side of the spirit.
The nose is fresh apple, honey, a touch of aniseed and roasted hazelnut. The palate is smooth and creamy, with more honey, lemon peel and fine spice.
