Scarabus 15 Year Old is a limited edition Islay single malt Scotch whisky from Hunter Laing, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The name comes from Old Norse and is said to mean 'rocky place'.
It combines Islay peat smoke with fifteen years in oak, bringing sweetness and spice.
The nose has smoky peat, maritime freshness and sweet malt, with vanilla, ripe fruit and a little oak spice. The palate is full, with smoke, dark chocolate, spices and a restrained sweetness. The finish is long, warm and intense, with smoke, spicy oak and a hint of salty sea air.
