Scarabus Islay Single Malt (70cl, 46%)

Scarabus is an Islay single malt from Hunter Laing, in a 70cl bottle at 46%, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring. It is a mystery malt: it comes from an Islay distillery that remains unnamed. The nose is maritime and peaty, with sweet apples and a light touch of sea salt. On the palate there are cream toffees, warm leather and stewed fruit. The finish is long, with smoky roasted notes and vanilla crescent biscuits.
