Scarabus Sherry Batch Strength Edition, Batch No. 2, is a limited Islay single malt bottled by Hunter Laing at 57%. Part of the whisky matured entirely in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, and the edition was created for the German market. It is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.
Strong Islay peat smoke is joined by dark berries and chocolate sweetness, with sea salt adding a coastal note.
The nose brings peat smoke, dark berries, sea salt and warm leather. On the palate, raisins and dried plums meet dark chocolate and leather, with an oily, peaty texture. The finish is long and fruity, fading with fine peat smoke, pepper, cinnamon and a hint of vanilla.
