Scarabus Islay Single Malt Sherry Finish is a peated single malt from Islay, finished in sherry casks. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The name is Gaelic for 'rocky place'. Peat smoke sits alongside the richer, sweeter character of the sherry casks.
The nose is an elegant, gentle peat smoke with dark fruit, raisins and plums, plus chocolate and sweet spice. On the palate come smoke, nuts, caramel and cocoa, with a marked sherry influence. The finish is long, balancing smoke, toasted oak and sweet spice.
