Scarabus Specially Selected is an Islay single malt from the family-owned Hunter Laing & Co., bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was first released at the Islay festival Feis Ile in 2019. Scarabus means 'rocky place' in Old Norse and is named after a mystical area of Islay. The label's ambiguous symbols and its look and feel draw on John Francis Campbell, the Islay-born inventor of the sunshine recorder and collector of Celtic folklore. The tasting notes describe Islay peat smoke and sea salt on the nose, then warming leather, stewed rhubarb and a vanilla sweetness on the palate, leading to a rich, lingering finish.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
