Schloss Gobelsburg Ried Heiligenstein Riesling 2020 Kamptal (75cl)

This is a 2020 Riesling from Schloss Gobelsburg, made from the Ried Heiligenstein vineyard in the Kamptal DAC in Austria. Heiligenstein is one of the oldest documented sites in the Kamptal, first granted to the monks of Zwettl in 1171. It is one of the estate's Erste Lagen vineyards, on mineral-rich, crystalline slopes planted to Riesling. The estate continues to farm organically, a practice the monks began as early as 1958, and Michael Moosbrugger has run the winery since 1996. He favours individuality over uniformity and moves wines around the cellar in barrels on wheels rather than pumping them.
