Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs 2022 North Coast (75cl)

A 2022 Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine from Schramsberg, made from Chardonnay in California's North Coast and dry and crisp in style. Small portions of malolactic- and barrel-fermented wines are added for complexity, and the wine spends over two years on its yeast lees in the bottle before disgorgement. The 2022 season brought drought, warm temperatures and an early harvest, and lower yields gave concentrated fruit. The nose shows green apple, apple tart and apple custard with tangerine and lemon-lime. On the palate come grapefruit, golden apple and white peach, leading to a clean finish with vanilla chiffon and a hint of ginger.
