Gold Label is a blended Scotch whisky with a five-year age statement, dating from the 1960s and bottled at 40% ABV.
The nose is light and clean, with toasted grain, vanilla and a touch of green apple, plus a faint wisp of smoke in the background. On the palate it is soft and mellow, with sweet malt, caramel and honeyed cereal, and a little oak spice for structure.
The finish is short to medium, dry and slightly woody, with a lingering toffee warmth. It is made to be easy-drinking, and suits neat serving, ice or highballs.
