Second Glance American Whiskey (75cl, 44%)

Second Glance is an American whiskey created by Dave Phinney, the maker behind the Orin Swift brand. It is a first release, bottled at 44% in a 75cl bottle, with a mash bill of 95% corn, 4% rye and 1% malted barley. Phinney hand-selected each barrel, with the whiskey sourced in Kentucky. The youngest whiskey in the blend is five years old. It was aged in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in wine barrels from his Napa Valley Cabernet projects, and reduced to strength with water from his Alexander Valley property. The nose is rich and bold, with maple wood, cardamom, buttery toast and black cherries. Honey, caramel, hazelnut and baked dark fruits show on the palate, and the finish is layered.
