A 27 year old Islay whisky from the Secret Islay bottling, distilled in 1998 and finished in a bourbon octave cask. It is bottled by The Fine Art of Whisky in a 70cl bottle.
On the nose it is rich and dessert-like, with dark plums, ripe cherries, sweet leather and bourbon vanilla beneath an elegant smoke. The palate is creamy and oily, with stewed stone fruit, soft caramel and milk chocolate, while the peat stays restrained. The finish is long and dry, with ash, mint, dark chocolate and a lingering salty note.
