A 40 year old cask strength blended malt Scotch whisky from Sennachie, made from five Speyside single malts, all distilled in 1975 and married in 1983. The outturn was 185 bottles.
Floral notes of jasmine or honeysuckle sit above dried figs, dried apricots and heather honey, with coal dust, linseed oil and an olive-like meatiness beneath. The palate is silky, with heather honey, figs, cinnamon, allspice, salted caramel chocolate and stewed plums in syrup.
The finish brings warming stem ginger and a touch of allspice.
