Sensei is a Japanese whisky blended from malt and grain whiskies and bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. The blend is married with Japanese spring water.
It is aged in mizunara barrels, made from Japanese oak, a wood associated with a sandalwood and incense character.
The nose opens with gentle peat and toasted oak, then caramel, orange blossom and fresh apple. The palate is light, with bitter lemon, vanilla and a little wax, building to almond and oak. The finish is long and smooth, turning spicy with fruit beneath.
