Ripple Rock 50 is a Canadian whisky from Shelter Point Distillery on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, in a 75cl bottle. It is distilled in copper pot stills from 100% malted barley grown on the distillery's oceanfront farm.
The whisky is matured in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in deep alligator-charred virgin oak casks and bottled at 50% ABV. It is deep amber gold in colour, with a full-bodied, rich and coating mouthfeel.
The nose is intense vanilla, charred oak, toasted caramel, baking spices and soft dried fruits. The palate offers rich toffee, dark chocolate, clove, nutmeg, sweet malted barley and charred oak tannins. The finish is long and warm, with spicy oak, sweet caramel and subtle cocoa.
